Our Independent Board Certified Optometrist will examine the internal and external structures of the eyes to diagnose ocular allergies, infections, glaucoma, retinal disorders, etc. (Should extensive treatment such a surgery be necessary, an optometrist will refer the individual to the appropriate ophthalmologic specialist).
Eyetopian Optical exams will also included an assessment of basic visual function as well as a careful refraction to establish the most accurate eyewear prescription possible. The exam can further include a contact lens fitting for distance only or multi-focal contact lenses.
Dr. Elizabeth M. Gearing, Board Certified Independent Optometry Physician, attended optometry school at the Illinois College of Optometry in Chicago, Illinois. She completed internship training at the Providence, Rhode Island VA Hospital, the Maxwell Air Force Base Hospital in Montgomery, Alabama, the Illinois Eye Institute in Chicago and the Mid-Florida Eye Center in Mt.
